📑 How to Verify It Is Working

Before navigating to research databases, verify that your traffic is successfully tunneling through the university.
1. Open a browser on your PC or phone and go to whatismyip.com.
2. Look at the IPv4 address displayed. It should explicitly show the university’s IP: 103.94.129.9.
3. Navigate to a journal database (e.g., ieeexplore.ieee.org).
4. Look at the institutional branding banner at the top of the website. It should read: “Access provided by: University of Chittagong”.

💡 Best Practices & Troubleshooting

• Disconnect when finished: Running an exit node routes all your video streams, downloads, and general browsing through the university network. To preserve campus bandwidth, turn off the Exit Node or disconnect Tailscale when you are finished with your research.
